August's Home of the Month Award Winner is.....

The Marietta Board of REALTORS® would like to congratulate

Bob Rauch of Belpre

on being selected as the August Home of the Month winner!

Even though the house is relatively new, Bob has been striving to acquire this property for more than a decade. With the assistance of Janet Gilbert from McCarthy Real Estate, he managed to secure the 6/10 acre plot. Janet persistently reached out to the Florida-based owner every Spring for a decade until the purchase was finalized. Bob was drawn to this particular lot due to its abundance of mature oak trees and a spacious clearing that could accommodate the house without the need to remove any trees.

The house design was inspired by a cottage picture on Pinterest. Eric and Alicia Morgan from Morgan Design Systems conceptualized and sketched the idea. Virgil Huck (Mark) Builders from Waterford served as the general contractor, contributing significantly to the final design with valuable ideas and guidance. The 2300sqft house boasts a 15ft turret at the front, a three-car garage, 2.5 baths, four bedrooms, central vacuum, walk-in shower, heated bathroom floors, Generac generator, four heating and AC zones, water softener, gas heat, and surveillance cameras. The man cave/office was built using authentic oak barn beams, real oak walls, and hardwood floors. The first floor is fully wheelchair accessible, and the siding is made of cement board for durability and to prevent warping.

This beautiful home could not have been built without the help from the local community and Bob wanted to make sure they got recognized for their hard work and dedication:

Brady Lang of Waterford poured the full basement walls.

Dave Bosner of Waterford installed the heating, cooling and wiring.

Brad Schott and Tom Kern of Waterford installed the stone veneer.

RC Moore Lumber of Caldwell provided the crown mouldings, bannister and interioir doors.

Doors Unlimited of Ripley WV provided the garage doors and openers.

Belpre Furniture provided interior items.

State Electric of Parkersburg provided several of the light fixtures.

Matt Schaad of Waterford provided the kitchen and bathroom cabinets.
