April’s Home of the Month winner is….

The Marietta Board of REALTORS® would like to congratulate Chris & Emily Stollar of 511 North Seventh St. as our Home of The Month for April!

This month’s featured home at 511 N. 7th Street is a beautiful blend of historic charm and thoughtful modern updates. Owned by Chris and Emily Stollar, this residence dates back to around 1890 and carries with it the character and craftsmanship of a bygone era—paired with the care and improvements of dedicated homeowners.

Since purchasing the home just over a year ago, the Stollars have made significant upgrades to ensure both comfort and longevity. Foundation repairs were completed to address water intrusion on the south side, inlcuding rerouting gutters to better manage drainage. Additional improvements include new appliances throughout the home, repairs to the back porch where rotting wood was replaced, and shingle work on the roof. The home’s AC unit was replaced in 2024, and all electrical and plumbing systems have been inspected and brought up to code. Looking ahead, the couple has plans for additional concrete work on the south side and fresh interior paint this April. The exterior, painted just a few years ago, continues to stand out with its vibrant and inviting color palette.

Chris and Emily’s story is just as meaningful as the home itself. The two met while playing soccer at Marietta College before beginning their life together in Columbus. As their family began to grow—including the arrival of identical twin boys in 2024—they felt called to return to Marietta. The move provided not only a more affordable lifestyle but also a chance to put down roots in a community familiar to Chris, a Marietta native.

Family and tradition played a major role in their decision. The Stollars are especially excited about the opportunity for their children to attend St. Marys Catholic school, continuing a remarkable five-generation legacy. For them, the timing of this move—and finding a four-bedroom, three-bath home to fit their needs—felt like everything fell perfectly into place.

When asked about his favorite feature of the home, Chris pointed to the exterior colors. The soft, vibrant pastels not only give the home a unique presence but also reflect its historical roots. He looks forward to his children growing up in a home that feels both fun and full of character. He also appreciates the unmistakable charm that only a historic home can offer.

Chris would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Melary Banziger for her outstanding work as their realtor. Not only did she go above and beyond throughout the home-buying process, but as Chris’s relative, she continues to be a meaningful part of their lives—often even lending a hand with the kids.

The Stollars’ home is a perfect example of how history, family, and thoughtful investment can come together to create something truly special in the Marietta community.
